About John Ashley
John Ashley is a serial entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in the medical device industry. He has held CEO or executive positions at numerous medical device companies, including DurVena, CoAlign Interventions, ANPA Medical, Fox Hollow Technologies, Sapphire Medical, Primaeva Medical, and Oratec Interventions. CoAlign Interventions was acquired by Stryker, Fox Hollow Technologies went public and was acquired by EV3, Sapphire Medical was acquired by Tornier, Primaeva Medical was acquired by Syneron, and Oratec Interventions went public and was acquired by Smith & Nephew. These start-ups have collectively returned over $1.25 billion to investors.
John is also an adviser to the Surgical Innovations program at UCSF, the Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of the Pacific, and a Venture Mentor with the MIT Northern California Alumni. He currently serves as the CEO of Auctus Surgical, Inc., an emerging scoliosis correction device start-up, and serves on the Board of LifeAir Corporation.
